The Kyra Monster of Brighton Dam
Feeling cabin fever and yearning for signs of spring, yesterday I decided to trek through a local reservoir under moderate rain showers to search for the elusive and mythical Kyra Monster of Brighton Dam.
But first, play this music video, then read on below, ... if you dare!
Music: "One of Them" by Kevin MacLeod,
Album: Dark World
Local wildlife know that this creature makes it's appearance during the spring thaw after hibernating through the long winter, which then surfaces to the top to feed on daffy ducks, mother geeses and its favorite,.... double-crested cormorrants, a delicacy among Kyrasauruses!
So, under cover of dense ivy vines and boulders, I sat and waited ...
Cold and soaking wet, something finally caught my eye from a distance -- ripples of water began emanating from the center of this vast reservoir ... .
Then, ... there it was!!!
The KYRA MONSTER OF BRIGHTON DAM!!!!
This thing was seriously hungry and its nose was definitely on the scent for its favorite meal!!
Yes, the Double-Crested Cormorrants!!
The Kyra Monster made a direct turn and swam vigorously to these naive creatures, their backs turned to her stealthy approach.
Should I warn the cormorrants, as they glibly chatted about great bass fishing down by the Chesapeake?
Or, should I allow nature to take its course, after millenia of evolution to archive this carnage?
Then suddenly, to my amazement the dreaded Kyra Monster lunged onto dry land in an apparent attempt to ambush the cormorrants from around the bend.
It charged determinedly towards the cormorrants with blazing speed and agility!
Then it leaped ferosiously into the air. The cormorrants were taken off guard, and were force to dive, rather than fly in their desperate attempt to escape from the dreaded Kyra Monster!
.... to no avail!
Escape was futile!
For common decency, I could not show the bloody carnage that followed, due to its graphic nature.
But I did capture this shot of the dreaded Kyra Monster with it's steel-like spiked collar and prehistoric armor-like kyrasaurus plating at chest area!
